Nigerian Shot In Guyana Over Attempt To Assassinate President

Guyana’s Government said Thursday it has asked world police agency Interpol to help it investigate the background of a Nigerian national who earlier in the day tried to illegally enter the residence of President Irfaan Ali and ended up trading gunfire with guards, wounding one seriously. The First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has withdrawn the case against a final year student of the Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, Aminu Mohammed. The case was withdrawn by the prosecution counsel Fidelis Ogbobe, before Justice Yusuf Hall of the FCT High Court.
