Memo from EFCC to CCB requesting to investigate Tinubu

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has sent a memo to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) requesting documents to commence another round of investigation on APC national leader and a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tinubu, who is largely believed to be benefitting from Lagos State’s resources, has been fingered in several deals in the South West, especially Lagos, where he holds tenaciously to power despite quitting office years ago.

This would, however, not be the first time he would be investigated by the bureau that even took him to the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), where he was surprisingly given a clean bill.

In the current dispensation, observers believe that the Jagaban Borgu’s plight has a lot to do with his 2023 presidential ambition, largely opposed to by some powerful northern elements and a few aggrieved South West politicians.
